Sonic alphas generate sonic waves different from normal speech. This can vary from infrasonic to high-powered blasts of audible sonic energy.

Analysis[]

The human body usually only makes audible sound with the vocal cords, and perceives audible sound (20 hZ to 20,000 hZ) using the mechanisms of the ear. A sonic alpha is able to generate sonic energy on a much more precise and powerful scale, and may likewise absorb and process such to that same degree. This may involve a more advanced set of vocal cords, or an entirely separate set of organs that generate vibrations. Their ears are similarly adapted to cope with the generated energy and may even be keyed and "fine-tuned" to certain frequencies, allowing the alpha in question to practice a sound-based navigation and mental mapping not unlike those used by certain animals, such as bats and dolphins with their echolocation and sonar, respectively. Conversely, their ability to take in and process sounds and vibrations may even permit sonic alphas to convincingly mimic and reproduce the noises they hear.
